Well, she played. The fans came out to the Armory instead of High Falls and she played. Slowly, but surely, the giant cavernous room filled with people. I guess the word got out we moved the show.

My day was full of those little details I started telling you about yesterday. Setting the stage up, getting the bands in and sound checked. Having someone on strandby for them to run here or there for the odd bottle of wine or guitar pedal that needed to be replaced. Security. Cops (the special events City cops are awesome, especially their Lieutenant, John. I want to hang out with that guy.)

I'm off track. All the sudden I'm chillin with cops.
Anyway, I guess this is what I do. Take all the teenie weenie details for a big show and put them in my little binder, get some good people behind me and make it happen. It's not rocket science and lots of people think they want to do it... until they actually do it.

The band personel were way cool. Cool dudes, my age, making their way in the touring / business side of music. I've had opportunities to hop on the bus and work on tours... not for me, today anyway.

Charlie Louvin, the opening act

was so much fun. The guy is like 80 years old so I expected the behavior of an 80 year old. Nope. He was hanging out, meeting his fans... smoking mad cigarettes with me. Funny dude. Too bad I don't like country music.
Gotta say as well- the staff we have at High Falls had to transplant to

the Armory and did it without pause. It makes a world of di

fference to have the right help. Class acts, all of 'em.
On to the next one tomorrow. I got blues at the Public Market, also free. I might as well be on a bus going to the next tour stop.
